Horses

Sam’s love of horses started at the age of 3 years old. She eagerly started working at her local riding school at the age of 10 and the passion grew from there, at one point owning 10 horses herself.

At the age of 18 Sam left school and went on to do a National Diploma in Equine Management, passing with a triple distinction and being awarded a teachers award for best equestrian student.

Before moving to Hythe, Sam ran her own livery yard and rescue centre near London solely looking after 21 horses all on full or part livery. It’s safe to say she’s not afraid of hard work. One thing she realised when running the yard was how difficult it was to find reliable holiday cover or somebody she could trust to leave in charge of the yard when she needed a day off. So when she decided to start this business, it was definitely something she wanted to offer.

Sam gained lots of veterinary experience when working with the rescue ponies and horses. As you can imagine she had lots of poorly ponies that needed rehabilitating physically and mentally and she worked closely with her vet to bring them back to full health, successfully rehoming around 100 horses.

Sam prides herself on being reliable, trustworthy, clean & tidy and works to a very high standard!

The services she offers are:

  • turning out & bringing in (including hooves picked out & rug changes)
  • mucking out
  • exercising
  • clipping
  • show preparation (mane pulling, trimming, plaiting etc)
  • tack cleaning
  • first aid care (walking in-hand, changing bandages, cold hosing, poulticing etc)
  • holiday cover
